Press Release, Feb. 2018 – Iryna Dzyubynska

Each year, the WVRF honours a country at its Annual Summit and gives it a special place during the whole four-day séjour. After China in 2017, our choice fell on the homeland of ice hockey, black-headed geese and The Matrix’s leading man, USA’s cool older brother – Canada as a country of honour 2018.

This decision was motivated by the important network developed in this country in 2017 by the World VR Forum, and especially by Canada’s growing interest in Virtual Reality and their production of world-renowned VR projects. It also encourages Canadian companies to further develop relations with Switzerland and Valais. The delegation will be made up of technological, creative and financial players.

We also have the great honour of hosting the spectacular Atelier Grand Nord initiated by SODEC (Society for the Development of Cultural Enterprises) in Quebec with the aim of uniting professionals from all corners of the Francophone film industry in Crans-Montana for intense brainstorming sessions and scriptwriting exchanges.
