Colombian born, Carlos Franklin is a visual artist. He completed Fine Arts at the Universidad de Los Andes in Colombia and the master in audio-visual Arts at Le Fresnoy – National studio of contemporary arts, in France. Carlos Franklin uses recurrently new media, installation and drawing in his projects. He also has collaborated with musicians in operas and audio-visual performances. Carlos Franklin works from the archive and from a perspective of language: what establishes and legitimates the limits of the artistic practice. He has participated in multiple international art events like and also directs a series of animated documentaries in video and virtual reality for a European TV channel.
